Shakha joined our Prestige family in late 2019, following a decade working in an aged care facility.
“After being a Personal Care Attendant for many years, I was passionate about the wellbeing of the elderly and wanted to grow in my field while staying within the aged care sector, so I took the leap and applied for a Rostering Coordinator role at Prestige,” says Shakha.
“My experience as a carer means I’m able to connect with and understand the carers in my team and can engage with our clients both on a professional and personal level,” she adds.

What is your favourite part of this role?
I love to see how I’ve built strong relationships with both carers and clients.
Supporting my team and making a real difference in people’s lives brings me great satisfaction. Plus, let’s be real—solving last-minute scheduling puzzles makes me feel like a mastermind!
What is the most meaningful lesson you’ve learned in your career?
That empathy and kindness go a long way. Taking the time to listen and understand both clients and carers makes all the difference in providing high-quality care. And —coffee is essential for survival in this role!

What would people be surprised to learn about you?
You wouldn’t guess it by looking at me, but I’ve done bungee jumping! I still have no idea how I pulled it off, but it was an incredible experience. And next on my wish list? Skydiving!
What’s your favourite holiday spot?
My favourite place to holiday is India because it gives me the chance to have a break while also spending quality time with my family. There’s nothing better than reconnecting with loved ones, enjoying home-cooked meals, and experiencing the vibrant culture.
Plus, let’s be honest, the food is next-level amazing!”

What’s your dream job?
I’d love to be a food blogger! Traveling the world, discovering new flavors, and sharing my foodie adventures—now that’s a dream job.
